The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gonzalez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Boyd looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boyd is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Gonzalez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Gonzalez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gonzalez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Gonzalez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Boyd sprawls well initially but Gonzalez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Boyd working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gonzalez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gonzalez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gonzalez passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Boyd shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gonzalez throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Ike Boyd has been cut.
Boyd closes the distance and clinches up with Gonzalez, looking for a takedown. Boyd pushes Gonzalez against the cage but Gonzalez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gonzalez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boyd moves away.

Gonzalez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.


Boyd is rocked!
Gonzalez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Oh Boyd is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gonzalez scores with a big shot! Boyd's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Boyd! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Oscar Gonzalez!
