Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Grant Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Distor Centura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benton comes to the cage accompanied by I get Knocked Down. Distor Centura has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Grant Benton's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Benton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Distor Centura!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benton throws an overhand right that lands on Centura's shoulder, as Centura tries to avoid the shot.
Benton lunges at Centura with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Centura's hand.
Benton dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Benton with a nice cross.
Benton takes a swing at Centura's ribcage but misses.
Benton swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Benton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Centura's guard.

Benton not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Benton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Benton closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Benton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Benton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Benton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Centura keeps working.
Benton takes a little break here. Centura wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Benton moves away from the strike by Centura.

Centura fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Benton has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

It seemed like Centura was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Benton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Centura can do to turn this around?

Benton will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Centura bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Benton's head backwards.

Benton fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Centura to the ground. Benton is now in Centura's guard.

Centura is controlling an arm, preventing Benton from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Centura tries to hold on but Benton pushes him away.

Benton tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Centura sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Benton wants to take a breather but Centura is having none of it.

Benton is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Centura doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Benton.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Benton works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Benton looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Centura wants to get back to full guard.
Benton tries to stand but can't do so whilst Centura controls his leg.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Centura is looking to improve his position.

Well Benton has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
