Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Optimus Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDonald has chosen Get Busy Living as his entrance music. Optimus Prime could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ronnie McDonald's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Prime counters with a straight right hand.
McDonald bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McDonald is looking to clinch.

McDonald clinches up with Prime and pushes him back against the cage.
McDonald misses with the head strike.

Prime manages to break the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
McDonald ducks under a wild hook from Prime.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts McDonald, as that shot connected.
McDonald steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Prime.
McDonald pulls out of a head kick attempt.

McDonald has taken the fight to the clinch.
Prime wants a takedown.
Knees to the body from McDonald.
McDonald digs a right hand into Prime's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Prime's gas tank.
McDonald lands a left hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McDonald misses with some punches.

Prime gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
McDonald is pulling down on Prime's head to control his posture.

Ronnie McDonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDonald looks for a takedown but Prime sprawls well.

McDonald has managed to clinch.
Prime pushes off an throws an elbow but McDonald leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

I was talking to Prime's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
McDonald has a couple of punches blocked by Prime.
A frustrated look appears on Prime's face as he tries to break the clinch.
McDonald tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
McDonald wants to take the fight to the mat but Prime manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Prime tightens his grip and picks McDonald up, before dumping him to the ground. McDonald manages to land in guard.

McDonald changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Prime tries to avoid it but McDonald manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Prime to the ground. Prime escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

McDonald tries to bum rush Prime with a series of wild strikes but Prime uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A big right followed by a crushing left from Prime knocks McDonald out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
