Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sandro Franco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean McAodh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sandro Franco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sean McAodh!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Franco counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Franco chips away with some ground and pound.
We've been hearing that Franco has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
McAodh is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Franco drops back looking for a leg! McAodh is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McAodh manages to kick Franco off! Franco jumps back into McAodh's guard.

Franco thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Franco is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Franco drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McAodh manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Franco has McAodh in his guard.

Franco is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McAodh is aware though and is defending well.

Franco working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McAodh doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McAodh manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
My spies in Cozad MMA Hilo inform me that McAodh has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

McAodh is trying to control the action in half guard but Franco is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Franco is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McAodh defends well.
McAodh wants to control from the top but Franco keeps moving.
McAodh is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McAodh must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Franco on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Franco tries to get out of the position.
Franco lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Franco has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think McAodh should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Franco has tightened it up now! McAodh should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
