Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Betschkeit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gene Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Betschkeit comes to the ring accompanied by Goldfrapp - Ocean. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gene Shepard!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Betschkeit.
Shepard misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Shepard closes the distance and clinches.

Betschkeit escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fighters circling - Betschkeit throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shepard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shepard throws a half hearted mid kick.

Shepard clinches up with Betschkeit and pushes him back against the ropes.
Shepard lands a left hand.

Betschkeit breaks the clinch.
Betschkeit stuffs the takedown attempt from Shepard. Shepard gets slowly back to his feet.
A jab from Betschkeit misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A left lands for Betschkeit.

It looks like Gene Shepard has been cut.
Betschkeit misses with a hook
and Shepard counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Tim Betschkeit has been cut.

Betschkeit gets tackled into the ropes by Shepard. Shepard maintains the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Betschkeit gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shepard.
Betschkeit wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shepard jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Betschkeit walks away with a smile on his face. Shepard gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tim Betschkeit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gene Shepard.
A slow jab from Betschkeit misses its intended target.
Betschkeit scores with a nice head shot.
The fighters circling - Betschkeit throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shepard drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Betschkeit defends it well.
Shepard should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Betschkeit moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Shepard goes down! Can Betschkeit finish him!?
Shepard is trying to control the position but Betschkeit postures up.
Betschkeit postures up, still in guard. A huge hammer fist lands that bounces Shepard's head off the mat! Shepard is out! He's out! Betschkeit jumps to his feet and celebrates with his corner!
