Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Schwartz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dovydas Adomaitis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaun Schwartz has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shaun Schwartz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dovydas Adomaitis!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adomaitis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Schwartz counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Schwartz shoots in but Adomaitis avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Schwartz on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Schwartz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Schwartz has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Adomaitis off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dovydas Adomaitis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Adomaitis throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Schwartz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Schwartz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Adomaitis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Schwartz somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shaun Schwartz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A left and a right from Adomaitis both land. Nice combination.

Adomaitis has managed to clinch.

Schwartz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Adomaitis looks to score with a jab to the body but Schwartz is just out of range.
Schwartz is looking for a counter combo.

Schwartz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Adomaitis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Schwartz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Adomaitis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Schwartz controls the position.
Adomaitis tries to improve position but can't.
Adomaitis regains half guard.
Adomaitis trying to control here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Adomaitis is doing well to control the position and prevent Schwartz from advancing to side control.
Adomaitis is trying to get back to full guard.
Adomaitis wants to control but Schwartz is keeping busy.

Schwartz prevents Adomaitis from improving his position.
Adomaitis wants to sweep but Schwartz has passed to side control!
Adomaitis is letting Schwartz control him for a moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Schwartz is trying to get an arm triangle but Adomaitis is defending well.

Schwartz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Schwartz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Schwartz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Schwartz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Schwartz has control of an arm but Adomaitis manages to advance to Schwartz's back!
Adomaitis is controlling the position but Schwartz somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dovydas Adomaitis will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Adomaitis throws a leg kick

and Schwartz counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Adomaitis lands a knee to the body.
Adomaitis tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Schwartz avoids it.

Adomaitis manages to pull guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Adomaitis is on top in guard.

Adomaitis works over Schwartz with some ground and pound from guard.
Adomaitis trying to control the position from guard on top but Schwartz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Adomaitis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Schwartz shoots in but no luck this time.
Schwartz sets himself, and Adomaitis steps forward looking for the clinch! Schwartz avoids it this time.
Adomaitis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Adomaitis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Adomaitis perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Schwartz has hold of Adomaitis's hands but Adomaitis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Adomaitis drops an elbow to the side of Schwartz's head.
Adomaitis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Schwartz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Adomaitis working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Adomaitis in particular looking to stall.
Adomaitis passes the guard and advances to mount!

Adomaitis lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Adomaitis goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Schwartz turns into him and now he's in Adomaitis's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Schwartz throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Adomaitis looking for a guillotine here but Schwartz defends easily.
Schwartz stands up over Adomaitis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Schwartz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Adomaitis, up you get!
Adomaitis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Adomaitis throws a head kick but Schwartz moves out of range.
Schwartz went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Adomaitis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Schwartz moves away.
Schwartz seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Schwartz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Adomaitis's waist but Adomaitis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Schwartz off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shaun Schwartz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Adomaitis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Adomaitis tried to score with a low kick but Schwartz checks it.
Schwartz is trying hard to land a takedown here. Adomaitis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Adomaitis rushes Schwartz and presses him up against the cage.

Schwartz wants the takedown. Adomaitis is fighting it off but Schwartz persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Adomaitis's guard against the cage.

Adomaitis uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Adomaitis tries to score with a low kick but Schwartz moves his leg out of the way.

Adomaitis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Schwartz napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Dovydas Adomaitis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Adomaitis closes the distance and clinches.
Schwartz blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Schwartz can't find room to land a body shot as Adomaitis controls the action.

Adomaitis gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Adomaitis stopping the sweep attempt from Schwartz.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Adomaitis is working Schwartz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Adomaitis is looking to work some ground and pound but Schwartz has wrist control.
Adomaitis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Schwartz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Schwartz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Schwartz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Adomaitis's guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Adomaitis is adopting a defensive guard.

Adomaitis has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Schwartz has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Adomaitis is trying to trip Schwartz. He has hold of a leg but Schwartz is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Adomaitis persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Adomaitis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Schwartz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Adomaitis postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Schwartz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Adomaitis, into his guard.

Dovydas Adomaitis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Schwartz keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Adomaitis's head.

Adomaitis wants to control the position but Schwartz says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Schwartz with the ground and pound but Adomaitis uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Schwartz wants to control from the top but Adomaitis keeps moving.
Adomaitis is pulling down on Schwartz's head to control his posture.
Schwartz cracks Adomaitis with a solid left hand.
Schwartz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Adomaitis has hold of Schwartz's hands but Schwartz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Adomaitis. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Adomaitis is concentrating on defense, preventing Schwartz from advancing position.
Adomaitis is trying to maintain the position but Schwartz is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Schwartz avoids the head kick by Adomaitis.
Schwartz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Adomaitis wants to counter with a clinch but Schwartz pushes him away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Adomaitis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Schwartz is looking to get back to his feet here but Adomaitis is keeping cool and he's managed to take Schwartz's back.

Shaun Schwartz showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Adomaitis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
