Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Demarcus Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tomasz Rzasa!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rzasa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rzasa tries to counter by closing the distance.
Johnson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johnson looks to land a combination but Rzasa avoids it well.
Johnson's corner calls for a 1-2. Johnson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Rzasa moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off.

Rzasa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Rzasa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rzasa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away.

Rzasa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but Rzasa persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing.
Demarcus Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomasz Rzasa.

Rzasa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Johnson wriggles free and stands up.

Johnson stalks Rzasa and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rzasa's face. Rzasa staggers backwards, shaken.

Rzasa shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Rzasa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rzasa walks into a jab.

Rzasa feints and as Johnson raises his hands in defense, Rzasa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rzasa prevents Johnson from getting back to his feet.
Rzasa tries to stand but Johnson is controlling from the bottom.
Johnson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rzasa controls the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Rzasa wants to get up but he can't break Johnson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Rzasa throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.

A little jabbing left from Rzasa on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rzasa.
Rzasa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Rzasa frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Rzasa has eaten all the pies!

Rzasa is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Rzasa extends the arm and Johnson is forced to tap!
