Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Booker Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ediee Ajvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ediee Ajvarez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Booker Potter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ediee Ajvarez!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ajvarez gets the takedown into side control.
Potter struggling a bit here.
The ground and pound from Ajvarez seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Ajvarez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Potter keeps working.
Potter is trying to control Ajvarez's posture but Ajvarez avoids it.
Ajvarez avoids the strikes from the bottom by Potter.
Ajvarez tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Ajvarez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Potter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The strikes coming from Ajvarez are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Ajvarez wants to control but Potter is keeping him busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Potter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Potter seems to be working for a kimura but Ajvarez defends the submission attempt.
Ajvarez wants to stand back up but Potter manages to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ajvarez bucks up and tries to throw Potter off but instead Potter has got his back!

Potter looking for the choke but no joy.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ajvarez is trying to get back to his feet but Potter has full control of the position and if anything, Ajvarez has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Potter has his opponent's back but Ajvarez is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Potter.

Potter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Potter escapes and gets back to his feet.

Potter has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Ajvarez is on him like a limpet, forcing Potter back against the cage.
Potter has Ajvarez pressed against the cage, preventing Ajvarez from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Ajvarez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Potter regains guard immediately.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Potter holds on and takes a little breather.
Ajvarez is looking to work some ground and pound but Potter has wrist control.
Ajvarez is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.
Ajvarez throwing strikes from guard but Potter blocks nicely.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Potter is on top in guard.

Potter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Potter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ajvarez.
As Potter backs off Ajvarez throws a huge counter combo but Potter manages to avoid it all.

Ajvarez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Potter has his feet on Ajvarez's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Potter gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Potter is trying to pull guard but Ajvarez turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Ajvarez pushes Potter off and gets back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ajvarez feints and as Potter raises his hands in defense, Ajvarez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Potter is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ajvarez lands a couple of elbows.
Ajvarez with a flurry of punches that miss.
Potter trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Ajvarez throws an elbow that misses. Potter uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ajvarez's guard. Nice move by Potter!

Ajvarez wants to stand and escape but Potter is having none of it.
Ajvarez wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Potter manages to pass to side control.

Ajvarez is trying to stand up here but Potter is controlling him well.

Potter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Potter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ajvarez sees it coming and defends easily.

Ajvarez has hold of Potter's hands but Potter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Ajvarez is trying to stand.

Ajvarez has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Potter is on him like a limpet, forcing Ajvarez back against the cage.
Ajvarez tries to circle away but Potter has him pinned against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Ajvarez pulls Potter into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Potter working some strikes from top position.
Potter scoring with punches to the head and body.

Potter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Potter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ajvarez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Potter is controlling him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ediee Ajvarez.
Well Potter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
