Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pepe Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tugg Speedman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pepe Lopez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tugg Speedman!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speedman looks to throw the jab but Lopez is out of range.
Lopez swings widly with a right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Speedman tries a head kick but it misses.
Speedman lands a nice looking body shot.
Lopez slips under a jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Speedman. Lopez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lopez moves out of range of the body kick from Speedman.
Speedman throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Speedman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Speedman lands a really nice looking cross but Lopez seems unphased.
Speedman slaps away a takedown attempt from Lopez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Speedman lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Speedman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lopez.
Speedman just misses with a punch to the body.
A cross from Lopez lands.
Speedman misses with a wild combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Horrible takedown attempt by Lopez or perhaps it was just good defense by Speedman, which made it look bad.

Speedman moves into the clinch.
Lopez throws a head punch that misses.

Speedman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lopez tries to clinch up
and Speedman counters with a leg kick.

Lopez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Speedman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lopez is in Speedman's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lopez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Speedman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lopez has managed to get both his arms back between Speedman's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lopez throws a big elbow that misses.

Speedman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lopez defends well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lopez trying to control the position from guard on top but Speedman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lopez with a flurry of punches that miss.
Speedman trying to keep a closed guard but Lopez is proving a slippery customer.

Speedman working for a triangle but Lopez defends it easily.
Lopez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Speedman working for submissions but it's allowed Lopez to get to half guard.
Speedman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lopez is working away from the top position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lopez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Lopez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Speedman is looking to control Lopez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Speedman avoid being mounted?
Lopez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Speedman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Lopez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Speedman makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Speedman.

Speedman looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Lopez passes into side control.
Speedman stops Lopez from passing to mount.
Lopez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Speedman down.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Speedman manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lopez's best efforts.
Speedman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Speedman is trying to stand up here but Lopez is controlling him well.

Lopez trying to control the action but Speedman is working from the bottom.

Speedman looking for submissions off his back.
Lopez throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Speedman keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Speedman avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lopez.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Pepe Lopez will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Lopez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Speedman is doing well to control the position and prevent Lopez from advancing to side control.
Lopez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Lopez is nestled in close to Speedman, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Speedman is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lopez pulls his head out easily.
Lopez is looking to take a break and control but Speedman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lopez is looking to advance position but Speedman won't allow it.
Speedman gets full guard.
Lopez lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Speedman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lopez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Speedman looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Lopez has picked Speedman up and slammed him! Speedman can't keep hold of the triangle and Lopez manages to pass to side control!
Lopez is looking to take a break and control but Speedman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
A big shot lands for Lopez! That's hurt Speedman! Will he recover? Lopez fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pepe Lopez!
A less than humble Pepe Lopez misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
