The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
PeeWee throws a head kick that misses.

PeeWee moves into the clinch successfully.

PeeWee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
PeeWee tries to close the distance and clinch but Raymond swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
PeeWee stalks Raymond and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Raymond's face. Raymond staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Howard Raymond has been cut.

PeeWee shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than PeeWee was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Raymond is trying to work for a sweep but PeeWee has mounted him!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
PeeWee looking to control and managing it successfully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Raymond wants to try and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

PeeWee wants to finish this one by submission but Raymond is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from PeeWee.
Raymond could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Raymond tries to hold on but PeeWee pushes him away.

PeeWee controlling from mount.
Raymond is trying desperately to improve position.

PeeWee is landing with some decent strikes but Raymond is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Raymond is rocked!

Howard Raymond's cut is getting worse.
Raymond is desperately trying to improve his position but PeeWee has a good base and remains in mount.
Raymond regains half guard.
PeeWee controlling the pace.

PeeWee stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Raymond dives in for a single leg takedown but PeeWee sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Raymond enables PeeWee to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Raymond manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

PeeWee slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Raymond wants to stand but PeeWee is controlling the position.
PeeWee controls from within his opponent's guard.
PeeWee pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Raymond is keeping the position for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

PeeWee thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

PeeWee darts in looking for a takedown but Raymond gets double underhooks and turns PeeWee into the cage.

Raymond manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. PeeWee keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Raymond jumps guard but PeeWee turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Raymond is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables PeeWee to keep the fight standing.
PeeWee prevents Raymond from breaking the clinch.

PeeWee manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as PeeWee holds on and takes a little breather.

Raymond got a little sloppy there for a moment and PeeWee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Raymond has managed to get both his arms back between PeeWee's legs - danger averted.
Raymond lands a couple of elbows.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

PeeWee closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Raymond kicks off PeeWee and gets to his feet.
PeeWee is breathing heavily.

PeeWee takes the fight into the clinch.
PeeWee drops down looking for an ankle pick but Raymond pulls his leg out and moves away.
PeeWee closes the distance and clinches up with Raymond, looking for a takedown. PeeWee pushes Raymond against the cage but Raymond circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Raymond throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. PeeWee was covering up waiting for the punch and Raymond finishes the takedown easily into guard.
PeeWee looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Raymond puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for PeeWee. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Raymond is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

and Raymond counters with a left and a right that stings PeeWee.

PeeWee pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Raymond throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

PeeWee is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Raymond's half guard.

Raymond kicks PeeWee off and gets back to his feet.
Pete PeeWee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

PeeWee shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Raymond's guard.

Raymond has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes PeeWee off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Raymond manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
