And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pooh lands a jab.
Maciel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pooh moves away.
Maciel throws a right hand that Pooh ducks under and follows up with a left that Pooh also avoids with ease.
Pooh wants to counter the offense by Maciel and move into the clinch position.
Maciel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pooh circles away quickly and effectively.
Maciel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Pooh counters with a nice double leg into side control. Maciel won't be happy with that.

Pooh goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Maciel has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pooh but great work by Maciel.

Pooh is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Maciel's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Pooh tries to get to full guard but Maciel has control of the leg.

Pooh is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Maciel pulls his head out easily.
Maciel looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pooh with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Maciel is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pooh has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Maciel. Oh but Pooh has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Maciel goes limp - he's gone! Pooh jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
