PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lyman Kissell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Touko Pouko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Lyman Kissell has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Lyman Kissell seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lyman Kissell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Touko Pouko!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pouko has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pouko there as he acknowledges the shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Pouko misses the target.
Pouko keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pouko throws out a loose jab but Kissell uses good head movement to avoid it.
Pouko's coach down at Midnight MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Pouko's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Pouko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kissell tries to keep at a distance but Pouko has taken the fight into the clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pouko moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Some bone on bone action there as Pouko checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Pouko ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lyman Kissell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pouko avoids a punch combination nicely.
Touko Pouko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kissell throws a low kick but it's checked well by Pouko.
Pouko changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Touko Pouko seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kissell is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kissell enables Pouko to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kissell manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Pouko is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Touko Pouko is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Pouko can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kissell is looking to escape.
Pouko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well Pouko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
