Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Root (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naikrul Dream (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Naikrul Dream will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robert Root!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Naikrul Dream!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dream is looking to clinch but Root is avoiding it.
Dream connects with a nice looking jab.
Dream rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Root moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dream throws a lazy head kick

so Root counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Root loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Root stands and steps away. Dream gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Dream's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Dream's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Dream throws a sloppy head kick and Root moves out of range easily.
Dream turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Dream misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dream throws a head kick but Root moves out of range.
Root misses with a two punch combination.
As Root backs off Dream throws a huge counter combo but Root manages to avoid it all.

Root moves into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Root successfully pulls guard.
Root controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Root is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Root bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dream's guard.

Root is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Dream is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Root is controlling him.
Root looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Root scoring with some ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Root decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Root avoids the head kick by Dream.
Naikrul Dream is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dream looks winded!
Dream throws a leg kick

and Root counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Dream really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Root. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Root stands up from Dream's guard - Root perhaps looking for a knockout.

Root looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Root controlling the action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Root is nestled in close to Dream, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Root lands with a punch from half guard.
Root is controlling the pace.
Root moves nicely into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Root tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Root has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Root is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Dream is trying to escape and Root transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Dream is forced to tap! Nice work there by Root! Very nice indeed!
