The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Chris Dean and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloan misses with a head kick.

and Gustafson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gustafson.

Sloan tries to get to full guard but Gustafson has control of the leg.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gustafson connects with a nice short shot to Sloan's temple.

Gustafson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sloan sees it coming and defends easily.

Gustafson uses his free foot to push down on Sloan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sloan.
Gustafson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Gustafson postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Sloan in real trouble here! The ref calls for Sloan to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
