Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hiroshimo Sakamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Papa Shango (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hiroshimo Sakamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Papa Shango!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shango slips under a jab.
Sakamoto feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shango's calf.
Sakamoto connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shango. Shango circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Shango stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sakamoto.
Shango gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sakamoto throws a leg kick which misses Shango's front leg but catches the back leg as Shango tries to avoid it.
Sakamoto throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Shango wants to counter the offense by Sakamoto and move into the clinch position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shango takes one on the chin but seems OK.

And Shango tries to counter it with a takedown but Sakamoto pushes his down on his head and steps out.

The fighters are battling for position here. Sakamoto manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Shango wants to control from the top but Sakamoto keeps moving.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Shango takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Shango on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Shango has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sakamoto finds it's way round the side to connect with Shango's head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sakamoto wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Sakamoto has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Shango escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sakamoto gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sakamoto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sakamoto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shango swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Shango looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Shango holds on and takes a little breather.
Sakamoto slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Shango is looking for a triangle here but Sakamoto uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Papa Shango is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sakamoto fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Shango checks it well.

Sakamoto throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Shango tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Shango with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sakamoto to score with a decent uppercut.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sakamoto misses with an uppercut. Shango saw that one coming.
Sakamoto throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shango stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

I think Sakamoto has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
