Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Blitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franklin's entrance music is Tron Cat- Tyler, The Creator. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Franklin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Blitz!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Blitz swivels and escapes.

Franklin moves into the clinch.

Blitz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Franklin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Franklin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Franklin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Franklin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Franklin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Franklin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Franklin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Blitz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Blitz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Blitz!

Franklin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Blitz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Franklin, into his guard.

Franklin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Franklin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blitz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blitz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Oh but Franklin is tightening it up a little... Blitz has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Blitz reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Blitz taps out! Nice BJJ there by Franklin!

James Franklin decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
