PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nidhish Dhillon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butch Harris Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dhillon comes to the cage accompanied by Sweet Victory . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Nidhish Dhillon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Butch Harris Jr!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dhillon throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Harris Jr counters with a crisp one two that drops Dhillon! Harris Jr thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Dhillon to his feet! Dhillon is in big trouble!


Dhillon is rocked!
Harris Jr throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Harris Jr throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dhillon.
Dhillon appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Dhillon lands a nice looking body shot.
Dhillon misses with a lunging right hand

and Harris Jr counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Dhillon is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Harris Jr dives into side control.
Oh Dhillon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
An elbow from Harris Jr crashes against the mat.
Dhillon seems to have got his legs back now.
Harris Jr controls the position from side control.
Dhillon wants to control but Harris Jr postures up.
Dhillon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dhillon tries to get out of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harris Jr remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
It looks like Harris Jr might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dhillon is looking to reverse the position.
Dhillon dodges the ground and pound from Harris Jr.
Dhillon tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Dhillon takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Harris Jr looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Dhillon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dhillon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Harris Jr wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Harris Jr lands a few punches from side control.
Dhillon tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Harris Jr lands a big elbow.
Dhillon is desperately trying to improve his position but Harris Jr has a good base and remains in mount.
Dhillon tries to hold on but Harris Jr pushes him away.
Harris Jr unloading with bombs!
Harris Jr controlling the pace for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dhillon tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Harris Jr landing strikes, looking to finish!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harris Jr controlling the position easily from mount.
Dhillon wants to hold on but Harris Jr pushes him away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Harris Jr content just to control the position here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Butch Harris Jr dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Dhillon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Harris Jr sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Harris Jr keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Harris Jr is looking to clinch.
A right-left combo lands from Harris Jr.
Harris Jr throws a head kick that misses.
Dhillon scores with a punch to the head.


It looks like Butch Harris Jr has been cut.
Harris Jr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Dhillon counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Harris Jr to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Dhillon!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Nidhish Dhillon!
