The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferdinand shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hardenov counters with a two punch combo.

It looks like Lars Ferdinand has been cut.

Hardenov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ferdinand to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ferdinand passes Hardenov's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Hardenov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ferdinand. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ferdinand is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hardenov is just riding it out for now. Ferdinand eventually gives up the hold.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
