Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Correa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marc Dupuis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rodrigo Correa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marc Dupuis!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Correa drives through with a takedown into guard.
Correa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dupuis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Correa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dupuis looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dupuis lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dupuis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Dupuis wants to control from the top but Correa keeps moving.

Correa working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Dupuis has passed into half guard!

Dupuis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Correa defends it well.
Correa is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dupuis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dupuis's back!

Correa slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dupuis is trying to get back to his feet but Correa has full control of the position and if anything, Dupuis has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Correa is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Dupuis defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Dupuis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Correa controls the pace.
Correa wants to control from the top but Dupuis keeps moving.

Dupuis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Correa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Correa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Rodrigo Correa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Correa trying to control the action but Dupuis is working from the bottom.

Correa looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Dupuis is breathing heavily.

Correa is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Dupuis is in real trouble.

Correa is looking for the choke from the back position but Dupuis is controlling his hands well.

Dupuis just trying to survive but Correa is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Correa really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Dupuis.

Correa has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dupuis has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Correa is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dupuis can do to turn this around?

Correa is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Dupuis is defending well though. Correa let's go of the attempt for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Dupuis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Correa tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dupuis is in Correa's guard.

Dupuis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dupuis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Correa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dupuis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Correa throws his legs up looking for a submission but Dupuis uses it to pass to side control.

Correa is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Dupuis's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Dupuis passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Correa!

Correa manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Dupuis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Correa is concentrating on defense, preventing Dupuis from advancing position.
Correa is trying to control but can't.
Correa is pressing down on Dupuis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Correa controls Dupuis momentarily but Dupuis frees himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dupuis trying to control the position from guard on top but Correa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Correa bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dupuis's guard.


Dupuis has his foot on Correa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Correa works his way back into a safe position though.

Correa drops back looking for a leg! Dupuis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dupuis manages to kick Correa off! Correa jumps back into Dupuis's guard.
Correa advances to half guard.

Correa is pressing down on Dupuis's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dupuis is holding on for now.
Correa is working hard here to advance position.
Correa has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Correa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Correa wants to take his opponent's back but Dupuis doesn't allow it.

Dupuis is controlling an arm, preventing Correa from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Marc Dupuis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rodrigo Correa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Correa tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Well Correa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
