Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Guerrero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Christopher Cross will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Curtis Guerrero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christopher Cross!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guerrero avoids the head kick by Cross.

Guerrero gets tackled into the cage by Cross. Cross maintains the clinch.
Cross wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cross is stalling here.

Cross breaks the clinch.
Cross stuffs the takedown attempt from Guerrero. Guerrero gets slowly back to his feet.
Cross is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Cross has Guerrero up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Guerrero breaks the clinch.

Cross gets caught flat footed, as Guerrero shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Guerrero distracts Cross with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Guerrero postures up.
Cross is looking to stand up but Guerrero isn't so interested in that idea.

Guerrero might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cross is on top in guard.

Cross is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cross tries to free his leg and advance position but Guerrero is retaining full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Cross or perhaps it was just good defense by Guerrero, which made it look bad.

Cross has Guerrero up against the cage in a clinch.

Guerrero breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cross darts in and clinches Guerrero up against the cage.
Cross jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Guerrero walks away with a smile on his face. Cross gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Guerrero looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Cross wants to get back to full guard but Guerrero has mounted him!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round but I would say that Curtis Guerrero will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Guerrero shoots for a takedown but Cross saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Curtis Guerrero is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Guerrero shoots in looking for a takedown but Cross manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Guerrero's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cross dives in and grabs Guerrero's left leg, looking for a takedown. Guerrero pushes down on Cross's head and hops out.
Guerrero wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Cross clinches up with Guerrero and pushes him back against the cage.

Cross jumps guard but Guerrero stands there with Cross around his waist. Cross gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cross tries to roll over but Guerrero keeps him under control.

Cross is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Guerrero scores with a couple of nice shots.

Guerrero seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cross does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Guerrero is nestled in close to Cross, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Guerrero is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cross defends it well.

That was a close second round but I would say that Curtis Guerrero will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Cross shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Guerrero is trying to defend but Cross finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
