Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Chandler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Birchack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Chandler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anthony Birchack!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Birchack drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Birchack pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chandler is keeping the position for now.
Chandler wants to control but Birchack passes easily into half guard.
Chandler is looking for a sweep. Birchack is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Birchack is taking a breather. Chandler says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Birchack seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Chandler looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Birchack is thwarting Chandler's attempts to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Chandler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Birchack circles away quickly and effectively.

Birchack darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Birchack seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Birchack looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Chandler knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Birchack on the ground.
Birchack takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chandler is looking to improve his position.
Well, if Birchack is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Chandler is trying to maintain the position but Birchack is very close to passing his half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Birchack looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Chandler wants to control but Birchack is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Birchack throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chandler was covering up waiting for the punch and Birchack finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Chandler wants to stand up but Birchack is controlling him.
Birchack is working Chandler over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Chandler had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Birchack defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chandler wants to sweep but no luck.

Birchack's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Chandler is looking to sweep but instead, Birchack has passed into half guard.
Birchack looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Chandler with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Chandler is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Birchack shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chandler napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Birchack is working Chandler over with some ground and pound from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony Birchack showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Chandler misses with a hook. Birchack ducked under it nicely.

Chandler gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Birchack to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Chandler will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Birchack in particular looking to stall.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Birchack connects with a nice short shot to Chandler's temple.

Birchack has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Birchack is continuing to stall.
Birchack working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Chandler is in a horrible position here. Birchack smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Anthony Birchack comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Birchack winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
