Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Holder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Ohio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas Holder has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Douglas Holder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Ohio!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holder closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ohio's guard.
Holder makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Holder stays in close to Ohio's body and controls the position.
Holder with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ohio can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Holder controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Holder decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ohio has his takedown stuffed

and Holder counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Holder slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Holder working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Holder is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Holder takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Holder keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ohio's efforts to push away.
Holder is trying to force a seperation but Ohio has the dominant position.

Holder really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Holder lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ohio backwards.
Ohio has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Ohio misses with a short punch on the inside.
Holder wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Ohio throws an elbow but it misses.

Holder drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Holder will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Holder is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ohio will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

We've been informed that Ohio has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Ohio gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Ohio is trying to maintain the position but Holder is very close to passing his half guard.
Holder landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Holder takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Holder connects with a nice short shot to Ohio's temple.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Holder in particular looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ohio is breathing heavily.

Holder escapes and gets back to his feet.

Holder keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ohio misses with an uppercut. Holder saw that one coming.

and Holder finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Holder content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Holder is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ohio's half guard.
Holder perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Holder is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Holder content to control rather than advance.

Holder has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Ohio really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Holder. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Holder lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
