Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Shannon Bender!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyler Walter!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bender gets caught napping as Walter dives in and scores a takedown. Bender manages to retain guard.
Walter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Bender is looking for a triangle but Walter pushes his legs off easily.
Walter lands a couple of digs.
Bender being controlled here, momentarily.

Bender is working an open guard so Walter takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Walter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Walter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bender keeps working.

A lull in the action here as Walter stalls from top position.
Walter lands a strong strike to the head of Bender. That's dazed him! Walter looking to finish here. Bender is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Walter lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Tyler Walter was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
