The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prey on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Ventura thuds his right hand into Prey's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

and Ventura connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Prey takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Prey tries to clinch up but Ventura circles away and keeps his distance.

We've been hearing reports that Prey has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Ventura might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Ventura is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Prey had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Prey misses with an uppercut. Ventura saw that one coming.
Prey shoots in for a takedown but Ventura shows good takedown defense.
Ventura's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ventura's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Prey lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Prey shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ventura but Ventura pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ventura! But no joy.

Ventura has closed the distance and engaged Prey in a clinch.

Ventura connects with a body shot that sends Prey's belly button to the back.

Ventura connects with a good right hand that stumbles Prey. Prey circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Ventura lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ventura, as that shot connected.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Prey looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

It seemed like Ventura was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Prey's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ventura connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Prey scrambles back to his feet.

Tasha Ventura showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Ventura lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Prey goes down and covers up as Ventura starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
