Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Maichuso!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maichuso looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Maichuso trying to control but Teixeira is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maichuso postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Teixeira is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Maichuso got a little sloppy there for a moment and Teixeira has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maichuso has managed to get both his arms back between Teixeira's legs - danger averted.
Maichuso should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Teixeira tries to get to full guard but Maichuso has control of the leg.

Maichuso is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Maichuso is pressing down on Teixeira's thigh, looking to free his foot. Teixeira is holding on for now.

Maichuso moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Teixeira.
Teixeira is breathing heavily.

Teixeira wants to control but Maichuso postures up.

Maichuso thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Maichuso is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Teixeira is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Maichuso tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Maichuso has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Maichuso trying to control the action but Teixeira is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maichuso tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Teixeira defends well and Maichuso ends up having to push Teixeira into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Teixeira is looking for a counter combo.
Teixeira throws a leg kick which misses Maichuso's front leg but catches the back leg as Maichuso tries to avoid it.
Maichuso misses with a takedown
and Maichuso takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like Jose Maichuso has been cut.
Teixeira lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Maichuso falls backwards - clearly groggy! Teixeira dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pulover Teixeira!
An out of breath Pulover Teixeira thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
