The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves tries to clinch up but Northcut circles away and keeps his distance.
Alves closes this distance looking for a takedown but Northcut circles away.
Kadu Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Northcut wants to clinch up but Alves keeps it at a distance.
Alves was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Alves throws a half hearted mid kick.

Alves dives in and scores a takedown into Northcut's guard.
Northcut trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Northcut bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alves's guard.

Northcut prevents Alves from getting back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Northcut might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Alves stalks Northcut and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Northcut's face. Northcut staggers backwards, shaken.

Alves scores with a one two! Northcut had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Northcut get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Northcut stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Alves runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
