The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sheppard clinches up against the cage.

Bockert pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Bockert fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sheppard sprawls well initially but Bockert persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bockert seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Bockert takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Sheppard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bockert is working away from the top position though.
Bockert is pressing down on Sheppard's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sheppard is holding on for now.
Sheppard wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sheppard is looking for a sweep. Bockert is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Bockert looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Bockert with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Sheppard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bockert. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bockert looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Bockert is nestled in close to Sheppard, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

It looks like Thomas Sheppard has been cut.
Bockert is taking a breather. Sheppard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Sheppard is in trouble now - Bockert has advanced to mount!
Bockert postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Sheppard out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Bockert goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

After the fight, Lowell Bockert was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
