The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

I was talking to Fairchild's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Fairchild quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Bates changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fairchild tries to avoid it but Bates manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fairchild to the ground. Fairchild escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

He's trying desperately to grab hold of Bates around the waist but Bates pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Bates is the winner by TKO! Bates jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
