Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Finn Balor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antti Niemi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Finn Balor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Antti Niemi!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niemi throws a lazy head kick
and Balor counters with a left to the body.
Balor looks to score with a jab to the body but Niemi is just out of range.
Balor takes a swing at Niemi's ribcage but misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Niemi! But no joy.
Niemi defending well as Balor loads up on a big left hand.
Niemi swings away with a body shot that misses
and Balor counters with a straight right hand.
Niemi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Balor throws out the jab.
Niemi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Balor misses the body punch
and Niemi makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Balor feints and then cracks Niemi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Niemi down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Niemi moves out of range of the strikes.
Niemi fails in his attempt to clinch.
Balor steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Niemi. That one must have hurt.
Niemi tries to clinch but Balor is having none of it.
Balor looks to land a left hand but Niemi moved out of range nicely.
Niemi wants to counter with a clinch but Balor pushes him away.

Niemi wants to clinch up but Balor keeps it at a distance.
Niemi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Balor.

Niemi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Balor tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Niemi was well out of range. Poor timing from Balor.
Niemi rushes Balor and presses him up against the ropes.

Balor lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Balor throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Niemis head.
Niemi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Niemi lands a nice shot to the body.
Balor throws an elbow that misses.
Our sources have told us that Balor has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Balor on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Niemi throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Balor blocks it with crossed arms.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Balor.
Niemi goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Balor takes an elbow to the temple.
Niemi blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

A head punch on the inside from Niemi fails to land.
With the fighters up against the ropes, Niemi throws an elbow but misses.
Balor lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Niemi backwards.
Niemi throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Balors head.
Nice body punch from Balor - that landed with a thud.
Niemi lands a nice knee to the body.
Balor wants to break free but Niemi has control.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Balor.
Niemi pushes Balor back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Niemi blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A right handed body shot lands from Balor.
Balor is working Niemi over against the ropes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Finn Balor dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Balor fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Niemi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Niemi slips under a jab.
Balor misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Niemi.
Balor swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Niemi wants to clinch
and Balor counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Balor avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Finn Balor is winning the standup battle so far.
Niemi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Balor goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Niemi is rocked!
Balor cracks Niemi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Niemi is still on wobbly legs! Can Balor finish him?
Balor throws a nice looking combination but Niemi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Balor misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Niemi.
Niemi steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Balor.
Balor closes the distance and catches Niemi with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Niemi is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Niemi is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Niemi is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Balor takes it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Finn Balor!
