Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Columbus Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ambolt Paterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Columbus Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ambolt Paterson !
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paterson pushes Wells up against the cage in a clinch.

Paterson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Wells takes the fight into the clinch.
Paterson creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Wells's defenses.


It looks like Columbus Wells has been cut.
Wells tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Paterson just stands there and leans against the cage.

Wells could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Wells has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Paterson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Paterson wants it to stay on the feet.
Wells sets himself, and Paterson steps forward looking for the clinch! Wells avoids it this time.

Paterson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wells, pushing him back against the cage.
Wells blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Wells slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Paterson . He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

I would just about give that final round to Ambolt Paterson .
Well Paterson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
