Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rodrick Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erivan Chagas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Erivan Chagas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chagas dives in and scores a takedown into Kidd's guard.

Chagas stands up and waves to Kidd to follow him.

Chagas gets a double leg takedown into Kidd's guard.

Chagas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kidd is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Chagas, into his guard.

Chagas preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Kidd is working Chagas over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Kidd throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kidd with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Chagas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kidd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Chagas has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Kidd is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Chagas is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chagas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Chagas wriggles free and stands up.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Chagas is trying to ground and pound but Kidd uses the momentary lack of control by Chagas to regain half guard.

Chagas decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Kidd.

Chagas has taken the fight to the clinch.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Kidd jumps guard but Chagas stands there with Kidd around his waist. Kidd gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Chagas is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kidd is defending well for now.
Kidd jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Chagas walks away with a smile on his face. Kidd gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodrick Kidd. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Chagas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kidd, pushing him back against the cage.

Chagas pulls guard effortlessly.
Chagas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kidd manages to get himself to full guard.

Kidd is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chagas is aware though and is defending well.

Chagas is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kidd has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Chagas is looking to defend but Kidd has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Chagas! Kidd pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Chagas taps out and this one is all over!
