Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Quaid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles DaCoca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quaid comes to the cage accompanied by Total Recall. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 43 - 19 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Douglas Quaid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles DaCoca!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quaid lands with an overhand left.


It looks like Charles DaCoca has been cut.
DaCoca throws a looping overhand right but Quaid ducks down to avoid it.
DaCoca takes a swing at Quaid's ribcage but misses.
DaCoca ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Quaid moves away.
Quaid tries to bum rush DaCoca with a series of wild strikes but DaCoca uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Quaid slips under a jab.
Quaid scores with a punch to the head.
Quaid misses with an uppercut
and DaCoca counters with a nice leg kick.
Quaid misses the jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Quaid looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for DaCoca!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
DaCoca is looking to reverse the position.
DaCoca trying his best to control but Quaid has mounted him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
DaCoca wants to get back to his feet.
DaCoca sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
DaCoca wants to get back to full guard.
DaCoca is not content to let Quaid control the position.
DaCoca on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Quaid winds up and cracks DaCoca with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
DaCoca felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Quaid is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Quaid is keen to just control but DaCoca is a slippery customer.
Quaid working the head and body with strikes.
Quaid is thwarting DaCoca's attempts to control the position.
Quaid working DaCoca over with strikes.


That has opened up Charles DaCoca's cut even more.
DaCoca moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
DaCoca has momentary wrist control but Quaid slips an elbow through the middle.


The cut above Charles DaCoca's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Charles DaCoca's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Douglas Quaid!
In his post fight interview, Douglas Quaid started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
Charles DaCoca spoke after the fight, saying 'That was unexpected.. Well done.'.
