The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magician moves out of range of the body kick from Lei.
Magician throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lei tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Magician is in Lei's guard.
Magician is pushing down on Lei's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lei is fighting to maintain full guard but Magician has managed to sneak the leg through.

Magician is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Magician lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Lei looks like he's trying to stand up.

Magician looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Magician works to advance to full mount. Lei defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Lei wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Magician manages to pass to side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
