Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikel Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Reeder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reeder has chosen "Gardenia" by Kyuss as his entrance music. Mikel Page has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reeder tries to sprawl but Page drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Page is looking for a kimura but Reeder is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Page to get the leverage.
Page definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Reeder pushes Page off looking to stand but Page dives back in and keeps control.

Page is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Reeder has managed to free his arm - good work.

Page seems to be working for a kimura but Reeder defends the submission attempt.
Reeder wants to get back to his feet.
Reeder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Page. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reeder tries to kick Page off but Page keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Reeder wants to control but Page is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Page is trying to control the action in half guard but Reeder is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Page is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Reeder is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reeder has one foot on Page's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Page tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reeder sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Page somewhat.

and Reeder counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Page looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Mikel Page seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reeder cracks Page with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Page throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Reeder's waist but Reeder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Page off to one side.
Reeder only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Nice shot lands for Reeder.
Page looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reeder is fending him off so far but Page persists. Nope, Reeder circles away and we're back to standing.
Page is breathing heavily.
Page misses with a takedown attempt - Reeder sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Page shoots in looking for a takedown but Reeder manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Page's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Page fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Reeder avoids it really well and circles away.

Mikel Page overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Page shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Reeder sprawls well. Reeder wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Page gets slowly back to his feet.

Reeder closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Reeder lands in his opponent's guard.

Reeder is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Page wants to sweep but no luck.
Scott Reeder is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Reeder wants to pass the guard but Page is keeping the position.

Reeder postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Page is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Reeder, into his guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Reeder isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Page stacks Reeder on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Page!
You can see the frustration on Reeder's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Reeder takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Page tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Page has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Scott Reeder comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Reeder winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
