Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tuff Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tuff Frost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Diego Balboa!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frost closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Balboa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Frost is working away from the top position though.
Frost not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Balboa is pressing down on Frost's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Frost chips away with some ground and pound.
Frost trying to control the position from guard on top but Balboa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Balboa is pulling down on Frost's head. It's preventing any offense from Frost, at least for the moment.
Balboa keeping moving, preventing Frost from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frost wants to stand and escape but instead Balboa has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frost looking to hit a scissor sweep but Balboa is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Frost is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Frost is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Balboa gets full guard.

Balboa looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Frost would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Balboa pulls Frost in close to his closed guard and prevents Frost from doing any damage or advancing position.
Frost is looking to stand up but Balboa won't let him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frost in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Frost throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Balboa works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Frost working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Balboa is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Balboa avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Frost has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Balboa manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Balboa avoids a wild elbow strike from Frost.
Balboa has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Balboa is trying to break free.
Frost prevents a takedown attempt there.
Balboa is looking to take this one to the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Balboa is trying to pull guard but Frost has him pressed against the cage.
Tuff Frost has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Balboa.

Balboa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Frost looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Frost lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Balboa backs up against the cage.


It looks like Diego Balboa has been cut.
Balboa uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Balboa fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Frost, pushing him back against the cage.
Frost tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Balboa is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Frost pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Frost throws a nice inside leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Frost.

Balboa decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Frost is trying to stand up here but Balboa is controlling him well.

Balboa decides to stand and escape the position.
Frost is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Balboa tries to bum rush Frost with a series of wild strikes but Frost uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Frost looks to clinch
and Balboa counters with a left and a right that stings Frost.
Frost scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Frost throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Balboa has closed the distance and engaged Frost in a clinch.
Balboa gets underhooks to prevent Frost's takedown attempt.
With the fighters up against the cage, Frost throws an elbow but misses.

Balboa gets control of Frost's arms and successfully pulls guard. Balboa will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Frost knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Balboa on the ground.
Balboa bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Frost's guard.


Balboa gets to his feet. Frost looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Frost takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Balboa fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Frost, pushing him back against the cage.

Balboa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Balboa forces Frost back against the cage and clinches.
Balboa wants a takedown but no success here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diego Balboa dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Diego Balboa's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Frost tries to clinch there but Balboa circles away.
Balboa throws a counter combo.
Balboa closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Balboa fails with a takedown attempt.
Frost went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Frost throws the kick towards the body but Balboa avoids it.

Balboa drives through and clinches with Frost against the cage.
Frost is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Balboa gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Frost breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Frost drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Balboa wriggles free and stands up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Balboa avoids the head kick by Frost.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sloppy strikes from Balboa. Those never looked like landing.
Frost closes the distance looking to clinch
and Balboa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Balboa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The fight stays on the outside here - Frost looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Balboa connects with the punch.

Frost darts in and clinches Balboa up against the cage.

Frost breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Balboa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Balboa wants to counter the offense by Frost and move into the clinch position.
Balboa tries to clinch up.
Frost throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tuff Frost is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Balboa drops Frost with a beautiful combination! Frost stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Balboa is looking for the KO!


Frost is rocked!

Balboa closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Oh Frost is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Balboa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Balboa finds Frost's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Frost flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Balboa lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Frost will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Diego Balboa!
A very excited looking Diego Balboa made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
