Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rodrick Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Asen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrick Kidd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Victor Asen!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so Kidd counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kidd with a flurry of punches that miss.
Kidd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Asen is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Kidd throws a big right hand that misses.
Asen working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kidd.
Kidd scoring with punches to the head and body.
Kidd trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Kidd connects with a couple of short punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Asen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Asen trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Asen wants to stand and escape but Kidd is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kidd postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Kidd throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kidd throwing strikes from guard but Asen blocks nicely.
Kidd loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Asen controls Kidd momentarily but Kidd frees himself.
Kidd with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Asen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kidd distracts Asen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Asen looking for a sweep. Not yet Asen, not yet.

Asen has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kidd is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Asen.
Asen keeps Kidd under control for a moment.
Asen struggling a bit here.
Kidd is chipping away with strikes.
Kidd lands a decent elbow from side control.
Asen trying his best to control but Kidd has mounted him.
Asen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kidd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Asen sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Asen wants to improve his position but Kidd is controlling well.

Asen preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Kidd not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Nice strikes from Kidd there.
Asen avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kidd.
Kidd is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Asen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Asen throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Kidd manages to pass to side control.

Asen manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Asen looks winded!
Asen misses with a head shot. Kidd uses the momentum to regain guard.
Asen with a flurry of punches that miss.

Kidd is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Kidd is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Asen is aware though and is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodrick Kidd dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Nice sprawl there from Asen as Kidd shoots in.

Asen is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kidd's half guard.
Asen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Asen is keen to just control but Kidd is a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Asen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Asen with the ground and pound but Kidd uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Asen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Asen wants to pass the guard but Kidd is keeping the position.

Kidd has his feet on Asen's thighs here. He's pushed Asen off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Asen screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
