PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Royal Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexei Chernokov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pain kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is AC/DC Thunderstruck. Chernokov is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Disaster strikes - Mushroom cloud. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alexei Chernokov!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pain pushes Chernokov up against the cage in a clinch.
Chernokov is pushing Pain up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

We've been hearing that Pain has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Pain wants to control from the top but Chernokov keeps moving.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pain drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pain jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Pain got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chernokov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pain has managed to get both his arms back between Chernokov's legs - danger averted.

Pain has his foot on Chernokov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chernokov works his way back into a safe position though.

Pain working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chernokov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chernokov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pain shoots in looking for a takedown but Chernokov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pain's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Pain drops down looking for a counter takedown but Chernokov sprawls and moves away.
