PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kelvin Pouncey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Vaugh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vaugh is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bad Day. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Vaugh!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pouncey walks into a straight right hand from Vaugh.

We've been hearing good reports from Pouncey's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Pouncey here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Vaugh throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pouncey stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pouncey.

A quick step to the side and Pouncey tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pouncey shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vaugh pinned against the cage. Vaugh gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
