PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caiaphas Caine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sirius Dacke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Caiaphas Caine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sirius Dacke!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caine showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dacke.

Caine gets caught napping as Dacke dives in and scores a takedown. Caine manages to retain guard.
Dacke slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Caine is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Caine is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Dacke is stalling in the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dacke wants to stand but Caine is controlling his posture from full guard.
Dacke showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Caine is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Caine can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dacke controls the pace.
Caine looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Caine throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Dacke slips nicely into half guard.
Caine is trying to control but can't.
Caine flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dacke wants to stand up but Caine is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dacke in particular looking to stall.
Caine tries to roll over but Dacke keeps him under control.
Dacke seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Dacke seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Caine does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Dacke performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Dacke prevents a body shot from Caine.

Caine struggles to land a body shot inside as Dacke controls his hands.
Caine throws a punch but it's blocked by Dacke.
Caine doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Dacke tries for a takedown. No joy.
Dacke blocks a body shot from Caine.
Dacke blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Caine doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Caine misses with a short punch on the inside.
Caine misses with a hook to the ribs.
Dacke goes for a takedown attempt but Caine pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Caine connects with a jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Caine wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Dacke feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Caines jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Dacke's coach down at Wreckshop was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Dacke's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Caine tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dacke swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dacke swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Caine looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Dacke closes the distance and clinches up with Caine, looking for a takedown. Dacke pushes Caine against the cage but Caine circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Caiaphas Caine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sirius Dacke.

Caine moves into the clinch.
Dacke blocks a body shot from Caine.
Caine can't find room to land a body shot as Dacke controls the action.
Caine throws a punch but it's blocked by Dacke.
A short right from Caine on the inside.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dacke blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Caine misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Caine throws a head punch that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Caiaphas Caine will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Dacke tries to keep at a distance but Caine has taken the fight into the clinch.

Caine successfully pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dacke is looking to stand up but Caine won't let him.
Dacke sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Caine's guard.
Caine flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Caine is staying active underneath Dacke, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Caine is trying to get back to full guard.
Dacke is trying to control. Caine wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Caine trying to control but Dacke postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caine is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Fight Factory, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Dacke slows the pace down in half guard.

Dacke prevents Caine from improving his position.
Dacke trying to control from half guard but Caine is working away.
Caine has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dacke is working away from the top position though.

Dacke blocks the strikes from Caine.
Caine throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Dacke feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Dacke wants to control from the top but Caine keeps moving.

Caine is trying to keep Dacke in close.
Dacke trying to control but Caine is working from the bottom.
Caine throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Caine is looking for a triangle here but Dacke uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Dacke remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

I wouldn't like to be where Caine is right now.
Caine is not content to let Dacke control the position.
Caine gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Caine tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Caine takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Caine can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sirius Dacke showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Caine misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dacke.
Dacke swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Caine slaps away a takedown attempt from Dacke, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A shot to the body from Caine misses
and Dacke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A solid body kick from Caine.
Dacke looks for a takedown but Caine sprawls well.
Caine misses with a head kick.
Caine misses with a hook to the body
and Dacke counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Caine misses with a takedown attempt
and Dacke counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sirius Dacke is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Caine jabs Dacke right on the nose. Dacke blinks but takes it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Caine takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Caine throws a leg kick that is checked
and Dacke counters with a series of strikes. Caine will be more careful next time no doubt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dacke fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Caine changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Caiaphas Caine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sirius Dacke.
Caine misses with a left hand
and Dacke counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Caine shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Dacke counters with a one-two to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Caine throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Dacke scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Caine trying to remain calm as Dacke controls from the top position.
Dacke tries to stand but Caine is controlling his head.
Dacke content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Caine tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dacke wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Dacke remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The adventures of Dacke the control monster continue. Boring.

Dacke tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Dacke has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Caine manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dacke's best efforts.

Caine is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dacke pulls his head out easily.
Dacke tries to pass the half guard into mount. Caine knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Caine is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Dacke trying to control the action but Caine is working from the bottom.
Caine won't allow Dacke to pass to mount.

Dacke looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Dacke gets a takedown into half guard.
Caine throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Dacke manages to pass to side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Caine is looking for a sweep.
Caine manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Dacke is trying to stand up here but Caine is controlling him well.
Dacke trying to control but Caine postures up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Caine in particular looking to stall.
Dacke is looking to control Caine's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dacke avoid being mounted?

Caine is working for a submission of some sort.
Caine will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dacke blocking the ground and pound attempt from Caine.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sirius Dacke comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dacke has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
