Ward tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Crooks defends well and Ward ends up having to push Crooks into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Crooks unleashes a big counter combination but Ward bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Crooks looks for the body kick but Ward saw that one coming.
Ward rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Crooks moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Crooks throws a front kick that sends Ward stumbling back into the cage.

Ward closes the distance and clinches up with Crooks, looking for a takedown. Ward pushes Crooks against the cage but Crooks circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Crooks scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ward doesn't seem bothered though.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Crooks in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Crooks connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Ward is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Crooks lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Crooks.
Crooks shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Ward eats them both and turns towards Crooks to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Jeez, Eusebio Ward's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Crooks walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Ward drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Crooks swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Ward's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
