Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Carneiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carneiro has chosen The Rasmus - In the Shadows as his entrance music. Daniel Carneiro is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Da Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel Carneiro!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva fails with a takedown attempt.
Carneiro lands with a straight right. Da Silva didn't see that one coming.
Carneiro throws a right and a left that Da Silva avoids nicely.
Carneiro takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


It looks like Daniel Carneiro has been cut.
Da Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carneiro tries to avoid it but Da Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carneiro to the ground. Carneiro escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Carneiro with the counter takedown but Da Silva avoids it easily.
Carneiro tries to bum rush Da Silva with a series of wild strikes but Da Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Carneiro closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Da Silva did well to prevent Carneiro getting side control.

Carneiro takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Carneiro is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Carneiro tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Carneiro throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Carneiro has hold of Da Silva's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Da Silva manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Carneiro has control of Da Silva's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Da Silva regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Carneiro tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

No joy there for Carneiro, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Carneiro defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Da Silva.

Carneiro has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Da Silva off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Carneiro has gone for a leg lock! Da Silva slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carneiro's guard.

Carneiro has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Da Silva is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Carneiro. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Carneiro pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Da Silva walks into a left hand.
Daniel Carneiro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Carneiro feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Da Silva wants to sweep here but Carneiro controlling him for the moment.
Carneiro slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Let's hope that Carneiro has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Da Silva shoots for a takedown but Carneiro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Da Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carneiro avoids it really well and circles away.

Daniel Carneiro is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Da Silva bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Carneiro's head.

Well Carneiro has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
