PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aoki Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ilir Carnevore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aoki comes to the cage accompanied by Baka Survivor. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aoki Aoki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ilir Carnevore!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki throws a hook but Carnevore blocks it.
Ilir Carnevore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carnevore loads up on a big right hand but Aoki slips the punch.
Aoki drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Aoki drives through and clinches with Carnevore against the cage.
Aoki is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Aoki has Carnevore pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Aoki pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Carnevore tumbling to the mat - Aoki dives into Carnevore's guard.

Carnevore is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aoki stands and throws Carnevore's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Carnevore really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aoki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Carnevore tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Aoki is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Carnevore has escaped the position, nice work there.

Aoki is trying to get an arm triangle but Carnevore is defending well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carnevore is looking for a sweep.

Aoki swings around for an armbar but Carnevore sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Aoki's guard.

Aoki is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Carnevore trying to control the position from guard on top but Aoki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Aoki wants to sweep here but Carnevore controlling him for the moment.

Aoki pushes a forearm under Carnevore's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Carnevore is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
