The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Cage counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Cage tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Brooks jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cage walks away with a smile on his face. Brooks gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Cage loads up on a big right hand but Brooks slips the punch.

Brooks seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Cage fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brooks, pushing him back against the cage.

Cage gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Brooks.
Cage lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Brooks wants to stall.

Cage is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Brooks is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cage defends well.

Cage pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Brooks is keeping the position for now.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Brooks on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Brooks tries to get out of the position.
Brooks is pulling down on Cage's head. It's preventing any offense from Cage, at least for the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cage bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Brooks moves into the clinch successfully.
Johny Cage seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Brooks has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cage is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

I would just about give that final round to Johny Cage.
Well Cage has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
