Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Len Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Olivio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Len Walsh has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Len Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Julio Olivio!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olivio wants to clinch up but Walsh keeps it at a distance.
Olivio misses with a few strikes there.
Walsh throws a big counter combination but Olivio scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Walsh avoids the head kick by Olivio.
Walsh thinks about countering with a head kick.

Olivio drives through with a takedown into guard.
Walsh utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Walsh might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Olivio postures up.

Walsh is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Olivio is aware though and is defending well.

Walsh could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Walsh manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Olivio manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Walsh's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Walsh postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Walsh wants to stand but Olivio has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Walsh working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Olivio is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Olivio looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Walsh is working Olivio over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Olivio is looking for a triangle here but Walsh uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Walsh tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Walsh has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Walsh wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Olivio, who protects the arm well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Walsh lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Walsh fails with the takedown.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Olivio.

Olivio fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Walsh, pushing him back against the cage.

Olivio pulls guard successfully.

Olivio working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Walsh has passed into half guard!

Walsh working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Walsh takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Walsh is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Olivio sees it coming and defends easily.
Olivio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Walsh is working for a submission of some sort.

Walsh is looking for a kimura here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Olivio is looking to control Walsh's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Olivio avoid being mounted?

Walsh is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Olivio defends it well.
Len Walsh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Olivio wants to improve his position but instead Walsh has moved into half guard.

Walsh is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Olivio has managed to free his arm - good work.
Olivio holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Olivio is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Walsh pulls his head out easily.
Walsh takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Olivio is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Olivio is breathing heavily.

Walsh is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Olivio manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Walsh on his heels. He'll look to pass Walsh's guard now, I'm sure.
Walsh wants to sweep here but Olivio controlling him for the moment.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Walsh is looking for a triangle but Olivio pushes his legs off easily.

Walsh is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Olivio defends well.

Olivio stands and steps away. Walsh gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

A little feinted left hand from Walsh on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Olivio doesn't manage to clinch there - Walsh circles away.
Olivio just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromWalsh.
Walsh misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Olivio clinches with his opponent.

Olivio pulls guard effortlessly.
Walsh won't allow Olivio to sweep him here.

Olivio has his foot on Walsh's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walsh works his way back into a safe position though.

Walsh stands and steps away. Olivio gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Julio Olivio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walsh takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Olivio throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Olivio tries to clinch
and Walsh counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Olivio tries to keep at a distance but Walsh has taken the fight into the clinch.

Walsh jumps into guard, dragging Olivio to the mat.
Olivio scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Olivio got a little sloppy there for a moment and Walsh has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Olivio has managed to get both his arms back between Walsh's legs - danger averted.
Walsh wants to improve his position but instead Olivio has moved into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Olivio connects with a nice short shot to Walsh's temple.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Walsh is pressing down on Olivio's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Olivio trying to control the position from guard on top but Walsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Olivio lands a couple of elbows.

Julio Olivio comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Walsh has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
