Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andro Juricic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leon Montana!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Juricic takes a swing at Montana's ribcage but misses.
Montana avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Montana tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Juricic was well out of range. Poor timing from Montana.
Juricic thows a left - swing and a miss!
Juricic swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Montana misses with a head kick.
Montana cracks Juricic with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Juricic throws a sloppy body shot
and Montana counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Juricic throws the left hand but Montana avoids the punch easily.
Montana swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Juricic misses with an uppercut.
Juricic closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Montana did well to prevent Juricic getting side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Montana can do anything to dispel that myth.

Montana wants to get back to full guard.
Juricic with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Juricic's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Juricic thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Montana's head.
Montana is staying active underneath Juricic, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Juricic connects with a nice short shot to Montana's temple.
Juricic wants to pass to mount but Montana is defending the position.
Montana wants to improve his position but Juricic is controlling well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Juricic scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Montana has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Juricic is working away from the top position though.
Juricic sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Montana defending well though.
Juricic is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Juricic passes the guard and advances to mount!
Juricic goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Montana is on top in guard.

Juricic controls Montana momentarily but Montana frees himself.
Juricic keeping moving, preventing Montana from controlling successfully.

Juricic has his foot on Montana's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Montana works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Juricic looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Juricic looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Juricic is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Juricic had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Montana defends it easily.
Montana really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Juricic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Montana seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Montana is continuing to stall.

Andro Juricic dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Juricic stuns Montana with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Montana walks into a jab.
Montana jabs Juricic right on the nose. Juricic blinks but takes it well.
Montana lands a really nice looking cross but Juricic seems unphased.

Juricic is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Montana can do to turn this around?

Juricic is looking to wear down Montana with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Montana takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Juricic throws a hook but Montana avoids it easily.
Montana now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Montana has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Juricic throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Montana! But no joy.

Montana moves away from the strike by Juricic.

Montana uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Juricic.
Juricic fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Juricic swings for the body but Montana moves out of range.

Montana lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Montana counters with a crisp right hand that drops Juricic! Montana lets Juricic back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Juricic is rocked!
Montana throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Juricic to counter with a crisp jab.
Oh Juricic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Leon Montana seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Montana lands a nice hook to Juricic's body. Juricic takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Montana cracks a nice hook into Juricic's ribs.
Juricic seems to have got his legs back now.
Montana throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Montana cracks Juricic with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Juricic tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Montana pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Juricic is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
