Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Campbell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Campbell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Freeman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Campbell!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Dean Styles and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Campbell feints and as Freeman raises his hands in defense, Campbell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Campbell controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
It looks like Campbell might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Freeman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Campbell passes into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Campbell is continuing to stall.
Freeman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Campbell seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Well, if Campbell is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Freeman throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Campbell lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The adventures of Campbell the control monster continue. Boring.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Freeman shoots in for a takedown but Campbell shows good takedown defense.

Campbell looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Freeman!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Campbell happy to just control the position for now.
Campbell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Campbell creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Freeman sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Campbell looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Freeman is avoiding damage well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Freeman darts in looking for a takedown but Campbell gets double underhooks and turns Freeman into the cage.

Campbell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Freeman's guard.
Marcus Campbell has got the better of the ground game so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Freeman is on top in guard.

Freeman stands up over Campbell, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Campbell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Freeman is controlling him.
Campbell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Campbell trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Campbell is on top in guard.

Campbell is breathing heavily.
Campbell engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Freeman is adopting a defensive guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Campbell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Freeman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Campbell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Campbell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Freeman is trying to keep Campbell in close.

Freeman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Marcus Campbell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Freeman drives through and clinches with Campbell against the cage.

Campbell is trying to trip Freeman. He has hold of a leg but Freeman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Campbell persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Campbell's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Freeman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Campbell defends well.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Freeman looks for a takedown but Campbell sprawls well.
Freeman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Campbell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Freeman fails to land the takedown.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Campbell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Campbell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Campbell showed some decent athleticism there.
Campbell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Freeman really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Campbell throws a strike but Freeman avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Campbell decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Campbell is taking a breather. Freeman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Freeman tries to get to full guard but Campbell has control of the leg.
Campbell perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Freeman is not content to let Campbell control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Marcus Campbell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Campbell winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
