PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stuart Kirkland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Lobo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stuart Kirkland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Lobo!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lobo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Lobo postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kirkland has control of Lobo's left arm, preventing Lobo from doing any damage.
Lobo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Lobo scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Kirkland has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Kirkland knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lobo on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lobo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Kirkland looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lobo is fending him off so far but Kirkland persists. Nope, Lobo circles away and we're back to standing.

Lobo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kirkland's guard.

Well Lobo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
