Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Teddy Salazar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Routh!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Routh fails with a takedown attempt.

Routh takes the fight into the clinch.
Salazar on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Salazar is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Routh tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Salazar smiles and moves away.
Teddy Salazar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Routh.

Salazar moves into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salazar lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Salazar slowing the pace effectively.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Salazar gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Salazar slows down the pace here.

Salazar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Salazar rushes Routh and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Routh prevents Salazar from breaking the clinch.
Routh blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Salazar just leaning against Routh, taking a breather.
Routh tries for a takedown. No joy.
Routh is trying to pull guard but Salazar turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Salazar takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Salazar lands with a short head shot on the inside.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Salazar manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Teddy Salazar.
Routh misses with a takedown attempt - Salazar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Salazar was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Routh lands a big head kick that sends Salazar tumbling to the mat! Routh takes a step backwards and waves Salazar back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Salazar is rocked!


It looks like Teddy Salazar has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Salazar misses with a hook. Routh ducked under it nicely.
Oh Salazar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Routh lands a brutal uppercut that launches Salazar off his feet! Salazar tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Peter Routh!
Peter Routh looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTT'.
