Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leroy Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Fairchild!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fairchild drives through and clinches with Head against the cage.
Head misses with a body punch.
Fairchild tries to pull guard but Head forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Head is trying to pull guard but Fairchild turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Fairchild lands a nice shot to the body.
Head misses with some punches.
Fairchild is trying to push Head away but Head has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Head tries to land knees in the clinch but Fairchild avoids the damage to the body.
Head could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Head tries to pull guard but Fairchild holds him up against the cage and eventually Head drops back down to his feet.
Head jumps guard but Fairchild turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leroy Head. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Head manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fairchild trying to control the position from guard on top but Head is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Head preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Fairchild is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Fairchild is looking to work some ground and pound but Head has wrist control.
Fairchild drops back, looking for a kneebar! Head looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Head looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Head!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fairchild is trying to buck Head off.
The ground and pound from Head seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Fairchild bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Fairchild darts in looking for a takedown but Head gets double underhooks and turns Fairchild into the cage.
Fairchild lands a left and a right that send Head crashing to the mat, dazed. Fairchild thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Leroy Head has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fairchild Throws a clean left jab. Fairchild Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Head's chin! Head crumbles to the ground and Fairchild follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Fairchild!
