Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Boston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charlie Boston!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boston clinches.
Diaz tries to pull guard but Boston holds him up against the cage and eventually Diaz drops back down to his feet.

Boston has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Diaz uses from the top position.
Boston bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Diaz's guard.


Boston decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Boston tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Diaz avoids the head kick by Boston.
Charlie Boston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boston drives through with a takedown into Diaz's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Boston is thwarting Diaz's attempts to control the position.
Boston has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Boston is working for a guillotine from mount but Diaz frees his head quite easily.

Boston stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Boston manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Diaz on his heels. He'll look to pass Diaz's guard now, I'm sure.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Let's hope that Boston has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Boston has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Diaz wants to escape the position.

Charlie Boston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Diaz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Boston pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Diaz takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Boston jumps into guard, dragging Diaz to the mat.

Boston had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Diaz defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boston wants to sweep but no luck.

Boston is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Boston shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Diaz napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Boston is looking to stand up but Diaz isn't so interested in that idea.

Boston is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Diaz gets to his feet. Boston looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Boston's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Boston closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Diaz did well to prevent Boston getting side control.

Charlie Boston comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Boston has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
